For most of us Cric Info is the primary source for cricket updates and while on the go they do offer a mobile app. However, the mobile app is usually very buggy and crashes quite frequently. Therefore most users resort to just opening up Cric info’s mobile website which gets the job done.
The folks at ESPN however have thankfully released an update aimed not only to resolve these issues but revamp the whole UI, in an attempt to make it more navigable and user friendly. For iOS devices, they have added support for widgets amongst other features.
The complete list of changes include:
- A revamped UI
- An exclusive section of World Cup 2015
- iOS 8 Widget support
- Matches page with calendar
- Match Archives section
- Summary view in commentary section to get instant ball by ball updates
- Ability to comment on Cric Info articles using ESPN login
- Performance improvements
- Most wanted section which is synonymous to most viewed players
- Native Share
The new UI feels really snappy on iOS 6 Plus, a lot more clearly laid out and intuitive. Lets see how the app performs during the World Cup. Focus is going to be on stability and commentary/scoring interface.
