Microsoft’s Outlook.com is all set to discontinue integration of Facebook and Google Messenger in its email service platform, which allowed its users to stay in touch with their contacts while browsing emails.
Earlier today, Microsoft sent out email to Outlook.com users informing them about its plan to discontinue integration with Facebook and Google accounts in coming weeks. Users will still be able to connect with their Facebook friends using Skype, but Google chat integration is going away completely.
As reported earlier, Google is dropping support for its old Google Talk and moving to the proprietary Hangouts platform for chat. Due to this change, Microsoft will not be able to provide Google Chat integration. The email mentions that contact integration will not be affected by the remove of chat feature.
